Miyajima Island is located in the Inland Sea just off the coast from Hiroshima. The Japanese consider this island to be one of the three most scenic spots in Japan. Miyajima Island is the home of the “floating torii”, one of the most famous and most photographed attractions in Japan. Enjoy the ambiance and solitude in the evenings after all the day-trippers leave for the mainland. Many tame deer can be found looking for handouts. Originally, this island was considered so sacred, that only priests and other very high ranking officials were allowed on the island.
