Centrally located and clean, and nice mix of Western and Japanese styles. Most lodgings had an onsen, which is always a highlight for me!

Delicious! It helps to have a healthy appetite and to be adventurous. Our guide, JJ, was well informed about the various regional foods and cooking styles, which added to the overall experience.

JJ was amazing! Knowledgable, patient, helpful and personable. Extremely competent and unflappable if there was anything not going as planned. Overall, I felt like I was travelling with JJ as opposed to being led around by guide.

Clear, detailed and useful.

The tour itself was excellent. The meeting and sending service needs some work: my meeting service did not show up at Kansai Airport, and I was informed this happened to two others in our group. Although my taxi fare was promptly reimbursed, it would have been better if the service was just there, as per the arrangements; the sending service was organised for the same hotel departure time for four people in our group, even though our flights leaving Kansai were over four hours apart. Neither JJ nor the guide we had for the final night could change this arrangement. However, the driver who arrived at the designated time went out of his way to exchange two train tickets for a later time. Very grateful for his assistance.

Great mixture of trains, local buses, trams, ferries and taxis, with a good amount of time for walking. Tickets and timetables were organised in advance and JJ\'s helpful advice each trip made connections seamless. The taxi drivers deserve a special mention, providing their own information, stopping at \'special spots\' and generally adding value to every taxi journey.
