Best of Japan
October 26, 2025 - November 9, 2025
I was so pleased with the tour and our group all got along very well and had fun together. It is an active tour with a lot of walking and being on the go, so I think that it\'s good to emphasize this to prospective tourists.
Itinerary
It was a wonderful tour. We were on the go and got to see so much of the essential highlights of visiting Japan.
Lodging
I liked the variety of the lodging.. and particularly enjoyed the ryokan on Miyajima island. The hotel in Takayama was especially nice, and all the hotels were good.
Food
There were some excellent and outstanding meals, the ryokan dinners were the best. a few of the meals at the hotels were a not as good. generally the food was good. We were disappointed by the Sayonara dinner, not so much the food, which was OK, but that there was no ending ceremony or ritual and no guide with us that night.
Guides
excellent guides. I liked the variety of guides. They were all very knowledgeable and caring and fun. Charlie in Tokyo is a great start to the trip and he sets a high bar !
Pre-Tour Handbook
Tour Organization
very well organized and good communication before and during the trip.
Tour Transportation
The trains are amazing and going on the public transportation and the bullet trains was a great part of the experience. and walking a lot was good too !!
