Itinerary
We felt we really got a good mix of places and types of visits. We also appreciated the \"on your own\" days to give us time to slow down and direct our own itinerary on those days. We did feel the optional tour of the historic Tsukiji Outer Market was a bit blah. It could be that because of Golden Week some parts of the tour were closed. We might have preferred to just see more of Tokyo that morning.
Lodging
In all, the lodgings were very good. We liked that so many of the hotels had onsens. The Aki Grand Hotel didn\'t have good air conditioning and the food, while good, was just too much!
Food
We appreciated that Ken included some non-Japanese meals for our time in Kyoto. By that point we were glad to have a more varied set of meal options.
Guides
All were excellent but Ken and Toshi really stood out.
Pre-Tour Handbook
The materials were fine - there were some inaccuracies probably due to changes in the itinerary. Also, it would have been helpful to explain the \"luggage forwarding\" system more clearly. Once we got to Japan it made complete sense but was hard to picture from afar.
Tour Organization
We felt confident that all aspects of our time would be well-organized.
Tour Transportation
We loved using Japan\'s excellent public transportation to get around. And all the ticket\'s were well-organized and explained to us.
