JR Rail Passes
The JR Rail Pass is perhaps the best travel deal anywhere. These passes allow unlimited travel on JR trains. However, there are many options available, and we can recommend the best one for you as well as purchasing the passes for you. And sometimes, pre-purchasing the tickets are less expensive than rail passes. It all depends on how long you will be in Japan and how much train travel you will be doing. We will always compare the cost of rail passes against the cost of purchasing the tickets to make sure you get the best value available.

Japanese Cell Phones
The majority of non-Japanese cell phones will not work in Japan. If you need to stay in touch while you are in Japan, see our Cell Phone Rental page for details on how to rent a phone.
Japan may be a very advanced country, but they are behind the curve when it comes to the internet. Even many of the larger hotels will have hot-spots only in the lobby. If you need more than this, please see our Internet Connectivity page.
